I have been throwing clay for about a decade now. Many people say that my thrown works aren’t art, or that they simply can’t be and upon hearing that my determination to prove the contrary becomes stronger. I am eager to give this ancient technique it’s own way of existing through sculpture in our contemporary era.

Even though I had been taught how to make and use colours at a young age, painting came to me much later. I think you just have to pick up a brush and start. My good friend Vincent once looked me straight in the eye and said “(…) you know what, Willow, you can’t go wrong because there is no good or bad way of painting”. And I agree.

Anyway, welcome.

Je tourne de l’argile depuis maintenant une dizaine d’années. L’on me dit souvent que les volumes que je tourne ne sont pas des oeuvres d’Art, ne pourront jamais l’être et sont enfermés dans le cadre de l’artisanat. Cette réflexion me pousse ainsi à prouver le contraire. Je souhaite accorder une place unique et autonome à cette technique ancienne à travers la sculpture contemporaine.

Dès mon enfance, la fabrication de couleur et la façon de s’en servir m’ont été enseignées mais la peinture m’est venu plus tardivement. Mon cher ami Vincent une fois m’as regardé droit dans les yeux et m’a dit “tu sais Willow, il n’y a pas de bonne ou mauvaise peinture”. Et je suis entièrement d’accord.
